Chinese Medicine is an ancient medical system still practiced in Asia and around the world today.

It is a health system that emphasizes preventative medicine by living a lifestyle that promotes well being and seeking to stay in balance through food, exercise and life style choices.

The body gives signals when it is out of balance and needs some attention. This may include a whole myriad of signs and symptoms including pain, bloating, fatigue or feeling stressed.

What we aim to do when you come for treatment is to bring the body back into balance so it is functioning smoothly. This may be done through:

  • acupuncture, cupping and gua sha
  • herbal medicine
  •  self care exercises

The thing to remember is we are treating you, not a disease.

What is Chinese Herbal Medicine?

Chinese herbal medicine is a combination of herbs prescribed depending on what is not functioning properly in your body. This is determeined through a thorough health assessment and diagnosis.

The aim is to address what is causing the imbalance in your body to relieve your signs and symptoms to bring you back to a state of health.

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture – the body is energetic, and it has pathways that circulate around the body. Thin needles, about the width of a strand of your hair in inserted into acupuncture points.

The needles are retained for anywhere between 20 to 40 minutes.

Not only is it surprisingly relaxing and may bring relief of pain and many other conditions we suffer.

What is Self Care?

Self care practices are given you to enhance your health and longevity

These may include self massage, dietary recommendations, and life style changes.

Practices such as qi gung, tai chi and meditation are also health cultivating and can lead to a balanced and healthy outlook and life.
